Dear folks, My Grundig G6 is identical in size to the E100. That it has ssb apparently disqualifies it as an ultralight...perhaps this can be reconsidered. In any case, it is a tad less sensitive (day

Quality Control for the SRF-59
3 messages
I bought a second SFR-59 from K-Mart last week and it seems to be a bit of a turkey compared to my first one I got from Amazon. The FM band is dead and the sensitivity is not as good as my Amazon SFR.

Steve, I'll defer the response to your kind offer to Gary when he returns. He is really the one who keeps up with various models and contenders..... I have more than enough to say grace over handling

Toshiba RP-F11
I've owned a Toshiba RP-F11 since the 1980s, and it's a very good receiver. When manufactured it was probably the best receiver of its type, much better than the inferior, but better selling Sony 7600

I Cut the Ferrite Successfully!
I finally got time to try cutting a small ferrite bar on my diamond-bladed tile saw. I'd been cautioned to use plenty of water so as not to damage the annealing. I did. It cut VERY easily and cleanly.

Hi all: One thing that ultralights don't have, by definition, is a BFO by which a heterodyne may be heard to indicate that a weak station is there. With the Sony 2010 or other communications receiver,
