Yes, the specs don't look great. It would have to be significantly below the price point of the R-108 to gain any traction I imagine.
On the plus side, it's good that companies are still making radios. |
|
The Tecsun PL-320 looks like a better bet, except for the horrible BL-5C battery. At least XHDATA got that part right with the 18650 in this new model.
To me, the common practice of "modernizing" traditional-design radios by shoehorning in bluetooth etc. actually adds nothing of value in practical use. |
|
Peter Jones <jonesypeter@...>
Agreed Michael,
The only add-on that would be useful for me is SD card recording like on the ultra cheap Tecsun ICR-110 but with timed recording. |
|
Yeah, understood.
I guess my problem with the Bluetooth add-on is that it usually configures the tiny radio as an output device, which is of little use to most. What would help me would be the ability to use the radio as an audio source; i.e. to route the radio output to a higher fidelity Bluetooth speaker. --mike |

If it is actually an upgrade to the D-108 it will be an interesting model. |
|
Noted also incidentally that the RADIWOW web site is no longer updated and is slated for shutdown.
The Chinese XHDATA site is handling all consumer orders directly. Noted also that they have warehouses and logistics arrangements in many countries from which they claim to be able to fulfill orders within a few days. |

Hi,
The D-109 is currently being debugged in the factory, it is expected to be officially released in 1 or 2 weeks. As a preliminary remark about its main features: Memory radio frequency
FM: 100 pcs
LW: 100 pcs ===> It's really too much! And not useful ...
AM: 100 pcs
SW: 300 pcs Wait and see ... soon ... |
|
An interesting model, yes ... But it doesn't record and I think that's really a shame

Great...thanks! |
|
Surprising...
This morning in Europe (07h UTC), the home page of the XHDATA site has changed and presents the D-808... is no longer operational and leads to an error message: 404 Page Not Found
Did XHDATA suddenly withdraw the D-109 from sale? A promotional sale with a -38% discount
A problem spotted on the first batch of receivers? The link to the user manuals is still present: https://xhdata.com.cn/pages/d-109-manual
I am looking that up ...
