New FM DXing radios

Just bought the XHDATA D-109 and XHDATA D-808...

Looking forward to some FM DXing this year with these two....

Have not received them yet.  :(

I do not know about the D-109, but the D-808 has RDS capabilities for FM BC.
You will find this very helpful in identifying FM stations when you are DXing.
The Worldwide TV FM DX Association has a Database of FM Broadcast Stations that really helps out.

The D-808 works nicely with its internal whip, but really works better with just a simple set of Rabbit Ears measured to frequency (234/Freq MHz= Leg in feet) as a Dipole.
Demo on one of my old portables: Be sure you match it with a (old ones 300 to 75 ohm) Balun.

I really look forward to FM DXing this April when I move into a new house farther away from the Dallas/Ft.Worth Metromess.

By the way... 

I make available each April an export of the licensed FM Broadcast stations from the FCC Database in an EXCEL spreadsheet. Just in time for Sporadic Es Season.
I did this with Bob Colyard  (DXWorld.com) when he was alive before his and the Website's demise.
I hope the move doesn't interfere with me getting it done this year.
If you are experienced with Spreadsheets, it really helps you out when DXing.
There are a lot of good tools out on the Internet, but I always go back to this one to isolate what's out there.

there is also a good resource for FM DXing available at

https://www.fmlist.org/
or 
https://www.fmscan.org/ (same data base).
 
The site is heavily used by FM DXers throughout europe, but it contains worldwide data (so also for America).
 
You can create a bandscan for your location, that helps identifying stations. You can enter your logs there, create graphical diagrams about the propagation path of your receptions.
There are also coverage maps available for every station in the database.
 
So give it a try. :-)
