KGO 810 Stunt Loop in Alaska
Paul B. Walker, Jr.
I recorded about 55 minutes of KGO last night, checked the recording 3 times and it was a booming signal each time… don’t know if it was the whole 55 minutes though. I was able to widen audio from 1khz to 3khz because the signal was so good I’ll post the audio recording at some point. Paul On Fri, Oct 7, 2022 at 10:27 PM Les Rayburn <les@...> wrote:

The loop was 15 minutes and 0.5 sec in length, ending with a legal ID. (I'm 45 minutes away from the transmitter site and recorded it.) So you have at least 3 complete copies of it! Formatchange.com has a studio feed of the moment when the loop started, at 10:16 am last Thursday. It was very awkward. The host, Mark Thompson, suddenly sounded disoriented, gave a legal ID, and then there was dead air. Thompson was actually working remotely from Los Angeles, which may have been part of the cause of the abruptness. In any event, it was not a good end to what had once been a legendary station. Reportedly, there was no special announcement when the loop stopped at 6 am today to go to the new programming - they just went to it. On Sat, Oct 8, 2022 at 12:44 PM Paul B.
