I found this in the groups file area, is an update version online somewhere?

Liam,
There is no update version to that 2010 document, although SSB capability is now allowed in "official" Ultralight radios (such as in the C. Crane Skywave SSB model). The 20 cubic inch size limit is unlikely to be changed, however, meaning that portables like the XHDATA D-808 and the XHDATA D-109 do not qualify. To be honest, since the old Awards Committee was disbanded because of a lack of volunteers, whether a radio is an "official" Ultralight or not really doesn't matter much as far as this group's current activities. Messages can be posted concerning DX made with any smaller-sized portable, such as the D-808 or D-109, as well as others like the Sony ICF-SW7600GR. Shortwave loggings are welcome, as well as those on the Longwave, FM and AM bands. Live DX loggings are preferred, though (as opposed to SDR loggings). Communications regarding antennas, modifications and propagation are also most welcome. 73, Gary DeBock (in Puyallup, WA, USA) |

Thanks Gary for all you have done leading the ULR way with testing and modifications. I have not been following as closely as I used to on YAHOO.
I am interested in any ULR or nearly ULR barefoot which allows me to connect my MW BOGs directly rather than by coupling. I have the PL-360 series and the PL-330. Does anyone know of others under $100 or so with antenna jacks operating on MW? FARMERIK |

Thank you, Gary.
What was the awards program about? While I was not much of an award chaser back when I was active on the ham side, some extra certificates for the wall never hurts. From: main@UltralightDX.groups.io <main@UltralightDX.groups.io> on behalf of Gary DeBock via groups.io <D1028Gary@...>

Liam, The old Ultralight DX Awards program was explained in a 2010 document posted at Microsoft Word - Z Ultralight General Awards Program January 15, 2010.doc (groups.io) The Awards Committe finally disbanded around 2013 because of a lack of volunteers. There was a huge demand for the award certificates, but John Bryant had a fatal accident in 2010, and I drafted the certificates myself until about 2013. Finally the demand was much greater than I could handle in my spare time, while Rob was spending more time on the SDR side of the hobby. The last certificates were drafted around 2014, when by mutual agreement we disbanded the group. Gary |

Hi Liam. I received some of the awards a few years ago, they are very nice looking and I am looking forward to putting them back up in my radio room, when I get this setup again. They are well worth the time and effort to get them. Paul On Mon, Apr 3, 2023 at 10:00 AM Liam Wells <vk3xgw@...> wrote:
