How does this compare to your R-108 Peter?

I don't have an R-108 I returned it. The Tecsun PL-398MP only gets one additional  station

Okay Peter, thanks.

Please note this reception  was not exceptional.  Most of my radios can get all of these stations. The HRD-1032 fails to pick up some easy distant stations at night due to internal QRM, The CS-106 is worse for this. During the daytime the CS-106 can match the HRD-1032 by receiving the same stations. The display light on the 1032 consists of two red LEDs which renders the display virtually invisible. The CS-106 has a better display light.
I applied  to Amazon for a refund  for the HRD-1032, which they  approved but stated  there was no need to return the radio!

Nice result Peter!

I sometimes also do this, my results have not been that great.
What I find is that more often, my local (powerhouse) station turns up on a wide range of frequencies.
