By way of reference, the longest worldwide reception using "official" Ultralight radios was made by Gary Deacon at Fish Hoek, South Africa, who received 850-KOA in Denver, Colorado (USA) at 15,019 km (9,333 miles) on a Sony SRF-M37 and beverage antenna on the salt water beach.
The second longest worldwide reception was made by yours truly on the Rockwork ocean cliff near Manzanita, Oregon (USA), receiving 558-6WA in Wagin, West Australia at 14,705 km (9,138 miles) on a modified C.Crane Skywave and 15 inch (38cm) diameter FSL antenna, 150m (500 feet) above the ocean on the side of the plunging cliff in 2018.
