I was using it to run a scan at the same time each day and log what it finds. I ran it the other night and found that it didn't log a couple of stations that it "normally" does / what I would expect. I ran it again a minute later, radio was in the same spot and it logged some of the stations it missed the first time but also then missed some it did log the first time.

Yeah, I am sure there is a signal strength threshold for detection. It is likely relatively high so they insure you get only "good" listenable results. At times of day when signals are in and out regularly... (early evening through early morning),
well it is easy to see why results would vary considerably from one attempt to the next.
I agree, trying ETM in the middle of the day, without moving the receiver much or at all, would give you a much better idea of how well the feature works on that radio.
The only times I have ever used ETM was a few times when travelling, and only to get a few strong stations to check out local news and weather. I don't find it to be much good for anything else.

What were your expectations?

Hi Bill,

It does not seem to matter that much. I did some testing over the last day or so, the issue seems to be with stations that are close together, say for example it finds 855kHz on the first scan, it might miss this the second time but find 864kHz. It seems to me like it has trouble deciding which frequency it should save in the ETM. I don't notice it on parts of the band where the signals are not as close, such as 1008kHz, where I don't log anything close to this via ETM.

Thanks Rodney. That is a bit disappointing but if it is the way it works, I will need to adjust my process.

I have recently purchased one of these and have noticed that when I use the ETM feature, the results are not consistent.

I can run ETM now and get 12 stations, I run it again 30 seconds later and might get 14 or 9, run it again a minute later and it might save 11. In the past on any radios, this would always produce the same results at each time. Has anybody else noticed this?
