Many thanks for that, I didn’t know of this group but will certainly have a look. I’ve gone ahead and ordered one of these from that Banggood site and will wait and see if I get stung with any additional payments. 

I’d already looked at the video you linked, and it was one of the sources that had convinced me to try it. At this point in time I’m not heavily into AM DXing so the poorer result from the lower frequencies doesn’t bother me.

that thing is pure junk. I have one laying here. Overloads the radio, very sensitive to "touch and get closer to the loop" motion. Idea is good, but bad constuction. I would not buy it anymore - for no price.

Hi, I agree, it is pure junk. It worked well on shortwave but totally useless on mediumwave. BNC connections was bad. When turning the loop, lots of interference. Money in the garbagebox
