Hi Paul,

What do these number mean?

Example:  14042PK - Is that 1404.2 KHZ ?

Sorry,

Johnny

Hi Johnny,

1404 kHz is the frequency, 2PK is the station callsign, they use combinations of numbers and letters in Australia :-)

Hi Paul,

I'm impressed that you get so many stations!

I will try that frequency range tonight at 6:30 PM EST with my:
  • CCrane Skywave
  • Sangean DT-800
  • Sihuadon R-108
Should be interesting to determine my "net" reception in that range...

Good luck with it Johnny, I will be keen to hear what you manage to log.

Hi Paul,

It was an easy test.  ;)

Zero.  I heard nothing at 6:30 PM EST on the frequencies 1400 KHZ to 1500 KHZ.  Or 1300 KHZ to 1400 KHZ.  Or 1500 KHZ to 1600 KHZ.  On three radios. : (

I had intended to try after sunset, but ran out of time.  That may have been a deciding factor.  After sunset could have been a game changer, so I'll try again tonight.

Yes after sunset would make a huge difference, for me my station count goes from 15 to 100+ after dark.
