Hi
dianne_froude <dianne_froude@...>
Just joined this group but have been listening to ultra light radio for
oer a year now.... My significant other is Allen Willie who is VERY well known within this group and for me it was a matter of joining him at his favorite hobby or getting a divorce.... Joining this group was cheaper....lol... I have however found it fascinating and have logged 54 stations in the past month and still trying to reach 100 ...... Dianne |

Welcome aboard, Dianne!
It must be interesting when a husband and wife share the same hobby. My wife is into something called "scrapbooking" and making cards with something called a "Cricut". I just can't relate if I can't plug a wire into the back end of something. :) But my wife patiently indulges me while I'm sitting in my easy chair listening to static. Hi Dianne,
Logging 54 stations
is excellent! Welcome to the group (I just joined too). I wish my wife liked the
radio hobby, but then again she probably wishes I was into the things she
likes, though she hasn't said it. Wireless headphones really helps. Before
getting those I was stuck at a desk. She really hated that.

Hi Dianne,
Thank you for your post, and welcome to the
Ultralight Radio enthusiast group! Allen is indeed famous in the
group, dominating the Trans-Atlantic DXing records with his skill, and
propagation knowledge. Although Allen was a very successful DXer prior to
discovering Ultralight radios, his success with the tiny Sony SRF-M37V has been
legendary. I'm happy to have played a small part in Allen's current
addiction, along with John Bryant, my co-conspirator.
Please feel free to join in our Ultralight DX
activities, and awards program. You certainly have the ideal location, and
ideal teacher!

My wife tolerates my DXing for all the usual reasons and one other: she is quite an amateur ornithologist (a serious "birder") and our log books are about like their Life Lists and Yard Lists, etc. Really glad that you've gotten the bug, even f it isn't quite a terminal case. Who know what will develope? Really glad to have you aboard!!!
