Another UNID 550 Station Solved

Congratulations Kirk on solving the mystery. I must listen again
because it didn't sound much like German to me.

Thus far this morning (11/7/08) no Japanese station has been noted. I
interfaced the SRF-T615 with a Quantum Loop for the first time, but it
wasn't any help. So I'm back to barefoot.

There was a strong het on 1520/1521 kHz (NE/SW bearing)last evening,
but KOKC was too strong. With that said, I did manage to pull KRHW,
Sikeston MO, passed KOKC, for a new logging. The trouble is I had to
endure way too much talk about Sooner football while waiting for an
ID.

Best wishes to Kirk and all for a fantastic DXing weekend.

Down here in the southwest, hearing German on XEPL (and a couple other
Mexican stations)is a regular occurrence. There is a fairly sizable
German Mennonite population in Chihuahua.

"I was looking at http://www.xepl.com.mx/. The program schedule for
XEPL 550 shows "Menonita (Aleman Bajo)" or "Menonite (Low German)" at
0000-0500 UTC. I'll have to listen again to the recording because
it didn't sound much like German to me.
