E100 Auxillary Power

I'm planning to power my E100 two D cells under some circumstances, through the DC input port on the side. That port is also used for wall warts, of course. the size of plug is 4.0 mm outside dia. and 1.7 mm inside dia.    The Radio shack plug standard nomenclature is "B." What I often do is by the little plug tip that works with their universal wall-wart system and solder to the little prongs.... I insulate the prongs with heat shrink and wah-la, a cheap plug.  If its going to get heavy use, I then encase the thing is epoxy paste, making a moulded plug.

ALL YE BEWARE, THE E100 TAKES A NEGATIVE CENTER TIP rather than the almot ujniversal positive.  Its marked on the case.... just don't forget.
