Nice catch, Peter.  I have to null out 1010 WINS as much as I can to hear anything else on 1010.  I'm only about 80 miles from New York City.

Actually 1010 WINS is an easy catch on a portable in winter here in NW England but it is still summer. 
 From Oct onwards 1010 WINS competes for dominance with Newstalk 1010 from Toronto. Toronto and NY were both audible this morning but 1010 WINS dominated.

I just checked radio-locator and found that WINS beams ifs signal East so that helps you.

WINS on 1010kHz  is one of the most frequently audible at night in the UK.
