UnID KMKI relay on 1580
Maybe your radio is creating that signal somehow (image/mixing product/whatever). I live in Garland (eastern suburb of Dallas) and I hear no local signal from anybody on 1580KHz. The weak signal I do

Chinese ulralight wish-list
I would dis-recommend the Redsun RP300 for most people, but if you can pick it up for a song it does have one good point: it is at least as sensitive on AM-BCB as the Eton E100, and it is almost exact

Grundig Satellit 750 LW performance
FYI the older digital-tuning/analog-sound Grundig Yacht Boy 400 series, original 400 and 400PE, are both quite sensitive on LF AND (for some reason that I do not understand) free of MW images and mixi

Got My New Degen 321 DSP Radio Today - Great Performance so far!
I also have one and would disagree somewhat. It is really great on FM, OK for AM locals, but completely worthless on shortwave. Part of the SW problem is the strong local on 1080KHZ that breaks throug

5" Mini-FSL Antenna- "Heathkit" Construction Article
Since Litz wire cost is significant, has anybody experimented with a dual-use sleeve antenna using only one coil, but with switchable fixed capacitor(s)? The idea is to use the MW coil plus 1 or 2 fix

After doing some computations with the one of the inductance values that Everett came up with (385uH tuning with 10-381pf, tunes 400KHz to 1715KHz), I see that my idea is not going to be much good for

Danny Johnson here. Thanks for your suggestion about the 330/46 Litz and multiple coils--that sounds like an optimal plan. After bringing up the original idea I started thinking about (analog) radios

I thought it was common for <$1000 radios to use 455KHZ I.F. (even if they are dual conversion and have another higher I.F. frequency). Then if there is I.F. leakage back into the RF input stage you w

Sorry for that. I learned something new about a radio I have owned for years (the DX-440 being double conversion). I just assumed it was single because almost all double-conversion radios list that on

I've tried easy non-destructive approaches. Power line filters actually made the noise worse. Hard to tell if multiple ferrite beads help any. Bypass capacitors on the output did not help. One thing t

ccradio twin coil ferrite AM antenna?'s- FARMERIK
Have you tried a flat panel with LED backlight? They are uncommon but I would expect them to be much quieter in RF output compared to either a common flat panel (fluorescent backlight) or a "real" CRT
