I should also add the PL-390 as a possibility. Very similar to the 380 in form and function, with the advantage over the 310 being much less aggressive "soft muting" (like the 380), but with the sligh

Any ULR SW DXers about?
The E100s show up on eBay frequently. A while back, someone even had a bunch of refurbs. That's when I got mine.

Any ULR SW DXers about?
I've got an Eton E100, which is the same radio as the Grundig G100, and the Tecsun PL-200. This is an older version of the PL-210, and I have to agree that it is a great little radio for SW DX on the

Sticky E-100
This method worked on both devices I tried it on, with no loss of lettering. Your results may vary, but so far it seems to be safe.

I actually figured this one out, as my e100 also developed the problem as well as a second radio shack HT. You have to use 99% alcohol, not 70%, and you need to use a new spot on the rag or cloth as s

AM/FM/SW with SSB?
Jerry, If you are simply looking for something in the "size class" of an ultralight that has SSB capability, the G6 might be the only choice. I don't think they are available new from Grundig/Eton any

Kchibo D95L
I used to have a D96L too. I agree with Keith on everything, except that what makes the radio almost useless on SW (overloads easily), makes it great in a weak signal area. Ergonomics are a bit strang

Tecsun PL-660 Line out thoughts
Radio Shack also makes an attenuating patch cord. It's mono, but can be used with a stereo/mono 1/8" adapter. That's what I used on devices I had with only headphone out jacks. RS Item# 42-2461 http:/

FM Ultralight DX'er with RDS?
I've been with Sprint for years, and for some reason there are less CDMA phones with FM than GSM / LTE ones. Having said that, my company phone is a T-Mobile HD7, which does have an FM radio with RDS.

new Si4844 analog tuned with digital display
I noticed this chip on the Silicon Labs website. It seems like the 4831/35 with a digital display out. SW goes to 28.5 Mhz according to the page here: http://www.silabs.com/products/audiovideo/amfmrec
