Actually mine was an early model obtained as soon as they were available from anon-co.com and it does not exhibit this defect.

Hi Jay
Very many thanks for that, I did think that should have been corrected. I’ve just ordered one!

Hi Issac
I think I’d hang off on getting one of these until I’ve completed my assessment, I’m already thinking I should have gone for the Tecsun PL-368 as my next plaything.

Re: ULDXIndex and DB4ULRDXingV22

Paul Blundell

It was something that we had some discussion about here in the middle of last year. We have a few different methods and formulas, in my case, I also added the signal out of 5 to it, this helps to balance out those stations which are lower power and further away.

I have recently been updating DB4ULRDXingV22 and I have now added this in. It uses this formula to provide the index.
[DISTANCE]/[POWER]*[SIGNAL]

As can be seen in the below, it shows an index score of 0.3104 for 3GG on 531kHz.

In your case Paul, you have such a great location that they can think what they want, you are making the most of it.

People see anything that looks strange and think it is weird or dangerous.

The older HAM who lives near me has a few verticals on his roof. He did have a multi-band beam but this came down a few years ago. He mostly works on VHF and UHF these days.

My parents did kick up a stink when I starting looking at getting something like this. After my latest school results, I was lucky to be allowed to throw up a basic VHF and UHF white vertical.
