I have never really hidden who I am in real life. A simple search brings up a lot about me.

Update: 06/08/2021
I have updated my code to also include the signal level in the formula for working out the ULDXIndex number and added an option to only update this when you want to, before this it would prompt you to update the values every time you edited a record.

Re: Loggings - 06/08/2021

No photos???

How far away from your QTH is this location and what differnece did adding the signal rating make? I assume you accounted for this in your loggings?

My parents v115 can operate to around 15 hrs playing mp3 music at 48kbit rate.Just a guess.
 FM reception is quite tricky and requires proper installation of external wire

It seems that none in this last used or owns a pl330 to verify the discharge time

Here the band is so crowded that not having digital display is a huge disadvantage.

For less money than the Tecsun PL-series radios, The R-909 and R9012 are top analogs for about US$20 each. They will go great with your AN-200 loop. Each of these two radios run on 2 AA's and the batteries will last OVER 400 HOURS.

Re: ULDXIndex - A Suggestion

So the jump is .3 - .5 - .5 - .6?
The increse of each looks about right. Do you see a way to include both this and the origional way in your program? Some people might want to use one system, the other or a mix of both.

In MWDXerDB, I have used these values for the different signal levels.
Poor = 1.1
Weak = 1.4
Average = 1.9
Good = 2.4
Excellent = 3

The formula I use is: Distance/ Power * SignalLevel = ULDXIndex

These were only some rough figures, I am happy to adjust these to ensure it is a fair system.

Sorry if I have missed it but what are you using to increase the value? It seems to not be a standard jump between signal levels? The second graph to me seems to make more sense.

Subject: [UltralightDX] ULDXIndex - A Suggestion

Following some discussions on here and my own experiences, I have added an extra value to account for signal level. This rates the signal from poor, weak, average, good and excellent and assigned a value to this. It is weighted so that as the signal level improves, the ULDXIndex also increases. Below are some examples to show how it works.

The last five entries shows how the index value increases as the signal level improves.

This is another example but in this case the jump between the signal levels is greater. Does this better reflect the challenges of "pulling in" signals at greater signal levels?
