So based on that, you are not that happy with it? How do you connect your aerial to it? Have you tried it in outdoors and away from the mains? Sent: Monday, August 09, 2021 at 11:09 AM

Over the weekend I was able to undertake some more side by side testing of this radio. I ran some tests with both my AR-1733 and TEAC PR130 against this radio. Using both the internal aerials and also trying it with my 3" FSL, the results were not great. Basically the V-115 suffers badly from both internally generated noises across the band and it also picks up weird noises from other household appliances. Using 3GG on 531kHz as a reference station, the V-115 performed the worst out of the three radios, even with the use of my 3" FSL, it still struggled to pull in much of a signal on this frequency. Going across the band and checking a number of other stations, the results were sadly repeated. The 3" FSL seems to cause a number of issues with the V-115 being unable to handle this. My TEAC PR130 overall performed better and handled the 3" FSL easily.
My AR-1733 is easily the best performed out of the three and I will be using this as my main DX'ing radio from now on. The recorder in the V-115 will still be used at times, mainly with the line-in feature.

Group Stats
Paul Blundell
Over the past few months I have noticed that the group is much more active, I have been keeping track of the posts per month since the group first started. Below is a graph that shows the average posts per month. We have over doubled the average posts per month this year and are almost back to "2012" levels. It is great to see the group so active and have some new life breathed in to it. |

The best medium wave DX index at the same Rockwork Cliff would be for reception of 558-7BU in Burnie, Tasmania, Australia during the August 2017 DXpedition. That 2,000 watt station was received at 13,128 km from Manzanita, for a very modest index of 6.56. Gary DeBock (in Puyallup, WA, USA) |

RNE Cantabria is the more powerful one, day and night. Murcia gives half the power at night. As you know, not always the close one is heard first, or the more powerful one. The first RNE Radio Nacional regional slot is at 05;45 UTC workdays and includes local ID.
