Re: Ugh! Nasty QRN Has Appeared on MW Band!
Back before we went with Directv, OUR cable put out short pulsing bursts as part of the premium channel scrambling. It's one of the reasons why I dropped them..... just too much noise. I don't know

New Sangean DT-400W
Just delivered from UPS. First impression, I like it very much.
Will work DX tonight vs the PL-310 which I now have 36 stations log with in 5 days. I could have more but put my limits out to 60 miles

So, what new electrical items have been put into your home? Sudden QRN like this usually means the addition of something new, presuming the house-ground is intact. Just a thought.

Re: Got my Sony SRF-59 today
The one I have has been very good, amazing receiver for 14 bucks.
So now I have SRF-49, SRF-59, and SRF-37V. Everyone of them are good radios.
This whole DX Ultra light radio thing has gotten out of

Maybe I'm just lucky with the QC... anyway there are still good new SRF-59s around to be bought. I plan on putting gear reduction tuning into my project rig. If I get real ambitious I'll add the LCD

Re: Got my Sony SRF-59 today
The consistency of the QC on the SRF-59 is all over the map. This is why you'll hear some people praising them and others referring to them as a waste of money. I have three. The first is a true gem.

Re: Got my Sony SRF-59 today
A local store had SONY SRF-59 on sale for $12 plus change and I couldn't resist picking two up. I read somewhere that the new ones aren't as good as the older ones. I'd say they must have got a dud
