Re: which one is ultralight
Hi!
I dont think any of these 2 receivers are considered to be in the Ultralight category. But if so, the Tecsun PL660 is a more of a chance, cuz i beleive its much smaller than the Grundig s350dl.

I heartily agree about the rewards of DIY, but am no longer young and able to do either heavy or fine work. I have already done a huge amount of DIY, and truly miss it.
Your excellent summary

The SONY comes with an 'L' shaped base with the inductive coupler in it, which you lay your radio against for AM and LW. In the photo it may show only the back of the 'L'. There is a curved rubber pad

Thanks- I have the SONY fold up loop SW antenna for my ICF-7600G, and it works pretty well. I think it would be best in a building which blocked radio waves, because you can mount it in a window, and

I certainly would agree with Jay in endorsing the Quantum Loop. It is small, has nice adjustable gain and the head is easily rotated for directional reception. Top quality and well supported. I

Gentlemen-
Look into the PA0RDT mini-whip.
Roelof makes these one at a time and
they are simply amazing for LW and MW.
Good on SW, too. I've had mine for several
