Russ,
That sounds very interesting! Could you post specific detail of
"more isolation through an extra ethernet adaptor between
the router and the computer in the shack."

Hi Rick,
To my knowledge, despite all the dire warnings, nobody has actually
"fried" an Si4734 chip by directly connecting any antenna in place of
the stock loopstick. Graham Maynard's original FSL

What type of internet service do you have ? If it is either cable or fibreoptic, then the router could be creating the noise.

MFJ1026
I use it as a controller on ONTARS on 80m
seems to work fairly well
anywhere from 1/2 s unit =3 db right up to 3 s units ie near 18 db in a good set up
great gadget from MFJ
best wishes

There are many BCB/LW loop plans available on the web. Inductance alone isn't the issue. One needs the loop output to be balanced, and directional. I've never cared much about a specific inductance,

A few metres above ground. Good coax from the antenna to the receiver,
shield well grounded at antenna end. For LW, the whip should be longer.
