I agree with Zim - a few turns around the radio makes a good coupler, generally as good as a ferrite-based coupler. Perhaps for convenience or aesthetics, you can use one of the cheap AM loop

Unless intentionally comparing radios barefoot as out-of-the box,
comparision of relative reception characteristics and perceived audio
would be more meaningful if each model used the same wired-in

The simple solution is to wrap a few turns around the radio, with one end of the loop to the antena and the other to earth. To reduce sigs with a big outside antenna, move the loop away from the radio

The stock ferrite antenna for the PL380 is indeed inferior to the stock PL310 but the softmute on the PL310 which is more aggressive than the PL380 to me is quite annoying on weak

I can't speak to the 7600GR. I've never had one from that line and never had opportunity to compare one to the T615. If radios follow the transitive property, then the conclusion stated would follow.

Just got my PL-390 and I am impressed to say the least. The T615 must be really something if it sucks the pants of one of these! I will never know because I don't think its worth 3X the price. I doubt

I've noticed that some Chinese Sellers (ie Anon) no longer seem to be selling the Tecsun PL 310 just the PL 380 and 390 and many others up to their latest model - the PL 660.
