Actually, the CC Pocket and other earbud radios with no whip antenna use the earphone cord as an antenna, not a counterpoise.

Re: What effect does full moon have on radio reception?
Auroras have a huge effect on AM reception. A simple google search will turn up lots of information.

Randy is right-- the phases of the moon have nothing to do with AM radio reception.
If you think otherwise, that's OK, but please post your messages privately rather than discussing a useless topic on

Re: What effect does full moon have on radio reception?
I am still learning about this and a lot about radio in general. I don't know if it would have much impact but I would also love to know the answer.

Read about gray line propagation.
Grey Line HF Radio Propagation » Electronics Notes (electronics-notes.com). Has nothing to do with the moon, but does explain the best time to RX signals.

Have you had any luck with Turkey on 954, Paul? That's madeit into Victoria a couple of times.
Although 1215 is the "early warning" here, once things deepeneda bit last season, Romania and Spain did

Counterpoise question
A technician at CCrane suggested that, if I wanted to squeeze more performance out of my Skywave SSB on the HF bands, I might consider attaching a counterpoise to the mini (or micro, not sure) USB
