I wouldn't bother...this is normal for this model an alignment won't be able to help...it is a design flaw.

I had to run out and try it. My SRF39 did the opposite. Touching the top 1/3 of the case makes the signal nosier. If it stops drizzling, I'll set it on the hood of my car and see if anything changes.

New station 4/17/13
I DXed from 0134 to 0546 GMT and found very good propagation. Therefore, I was finally able to log a station I've been trying to hear for the past five years.
0442 GMT 1030-WBZ, Boston MA, 50 kW @

In reality, there are no "unused pins" on the USB 1.0/2.0/3.0 port
systems.
The four (4) pins on the 1.0/2.0 and the five (5) pins on the 3.0 are
dedicated functions.

All true. Here are two few more tidbits about hand capacitance effects. I generally find it most noticeable on smaller radios...I think that larger radios provide a stronger ground reference
