Re: PL-505 subjective audio quality vs. other Tecsuns?
I believe the PL-505 is actually nearly identical internally to the PL-606, right down to the quirky requirement for using the radio as an alarm. If you want to set the alarm to a particular station,

Re: PL-505 subjective audio quality vs. other Tecsuns?
Hm, the Groups web interface doesn't want to let me quote. @Keith, is that specifically with a 505 in the collection?
No problem with the 390 controls here yet but I gather they're just rotary swipe

Re: PL-505 subjective audio quality vs. other Tecsuns?
To my ears, the G8 (PL-300WT) has the best speaker audio of all the similarly-sized Tecsuns, and the PL-360 the worst, but only by a whisker. They're all pretty similar.
I collected them obsessively

Hi Tony,
Thanks very much for listening to the mystery MP3's!
558-Radio Sport is not listed in any of the Grayland DXpedition logs, so it may be an all-time new Kiwi logging here on the North
