Re: Question about AM Station Power - Why so low?
Good answer but one additional note is that they may not have reduced their power appropriately when you heard them. For a crowded frequency that is a long distance for 14 watts, although nothing is

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: Update to DX Central Live! start time for DST and end of Season 2 is coming!
Loyd,
FYI, your classification of DXers showed me the Casual Logger category, which fits me to a T. This was an affirming insight. I like adding new stations to my list but do not want to work at it

Yes the tuning on the loop needs to be very precise. A touch either way and you loose the peak. It is also pretty critical where you place the radio relative to the loop. With some of my small radios

Hi FenDrifter
You can still improve SW a good bit by plugging a long wire into the jack. Its not as good as turning on whip only (CH 5) and connecting an external antenna to the whip. If you are in CH

Re: FM DX'ers - What is your longest groundwave reception?
That depends very much on what you call “ground wave”.
If you mean a wave that propagates along the ground and follows the curvature of the earth, like MW or LW does, then you're right FM does
