Re: 2 Stations Rec'd over 1000 + Miles Distance In a Snowstorm with 3" FSL
A snowstorm should have no effect on AM radio signals as their waves lengths are very long in comparison to snow.
Your distances are quite miscalculated.
I recommend this site for accurate distances.

Re: Best portable and Ultralight Radios for Domestic DXing?
I would imagine you could add one pretty easily. I'm looking at its PR-D4W sibling, and if there's any room, I'll add a jack for MW. Maybe one for FM too.

3" FSL Tecsun PL-380 TP-DX for 3-14
There was reasonable Asian propagation on both the low and high band this morning but only a couple of the big gun regulars managed very potent audio. 594-JOAK and 1566-HLAZ were the best of the bunch

Re: Best portable and Ultralight Radios for Domestic DXing?
Agreed!
I bought the PR-D5 and PR-D15 at the same time for careful comparisons. The PR-D15 model won out the majority of time for me in weak signal daytime sensitivity and usually in selectivity also.
