I also have a PK loop antenna, purchased at a hamfest about 5 years ago, I find it very handy for listening to 675kHz ABC Corwa in the mornings.
I can confirm VOA Thailand does get to

Hi Todd.
What equipment are you using to receive VOA Thailand and Dunedin NZ? Most interesting. There was a NZ beacon on 1692kHz years ago, & there is one still on 1630kHz you may be able to receive

Hi Gary and Dan,
I receive noon residual noon MW skywave from distances as short as 27 miles (44 km), for example 1692 KHz Radio Symban, Wedderburn. I can mainly hear 1575 KHz Wollongong at 50 miles

Re: Reception report and 1566kHz 3NE anomalies
Dan and Todd,
1566-3NE has always had an overachieving signal, and it was a downright pest for me during a visit to Aitutaki in the Cook Islands in April of 2018.
It ran the Australia Overnight

Thank you Marc. I believe whip and ferrite longer on 398 vs 390. But I understand the PL-390 very good so it might be a small difference. Or perhaps none at all. On paper 398 is better but as you

I believe the whip is longer. That might account for better reception on fm and sw. I am speculating that the chip is same as 310. But cannot verify that. I am told ferrite is longer. Thank you for

I own the pl 390 and pl 398mp, the one with sd card slot. I use it as my daily radio, to receive and compare reception. I suppose they are indentical, except for mp or bt.

Does anyone have experience with new Tecsun PL-398? The only review I have seen says that it has a longer MW ferrite loop than the 310. Which is predictable since it has twin 2” speakers vs one on

The Tecsun PL-757 is much elder than the PL-310 or PL-380. I think it come at the time when Kaito KA1101 or Degen DE1101 released.
