Hi all:
The Slider e100 has WLW with good copy, often getting well on top of
Spokane. Must be a good opening to the East tonight!

Re: Kaito KA1101 - anyone have one?
I forgot to mention that the KA1101's wide bandwidth is sometimes too
wide for DX'ing but it makes the locals sound great. The narrow
bandwidth is about the same as the E100.

I'm currently borrowing a Kaito KA1101 that used to be mine. This one
and my stock E100 perform almost exactly the same but the sound
quality from the Kaito is much better and it's dual conversion. I

Re: FM DXing on Ultralight Radios
I've not really tried the SRF59 for FM, but I have tried the Sangean DT-200VX. The real issue with the Sangean is selectivity - or more precisely the lack of it. Forgetting the dreaded IBOC for this

Re: SRF-T615 versus filter-modded E100
In looking at Gary's shootout results, the 615 has very modest
selectivity, even compared to the stock e100. I agree - despite its
sensitivity, it needs a selectivity boost for splits.
I notice that

Re: An Excellent Overnight
FB, John, on the WBZ. I'd be fibbing if I said I wasn't jealous.
Between you and Richard Allen, I'm gettin' skunked on the far NE
stations. Would it help if I learned how to talk like a Yankee?

SRF-T615 versus filter-modded E100
If one already has an Eton E100 with the filter modification, would
there be any advantage to having a Sony SRF-T615 ?
Most important consideration here is selectivity for split-channel
foreign DX.

Hi Mark,
If 9 kHz split-channel selectivity is your mainpriority in DXpeditions, then the Sony SRF-T615 is probably not going to thrillyou. Its stock IF filter is nothing to shout about, and

Hey Gil:
About a year ago I took two 8-foot pieces of lumber and made a cross out
of them, then strung up a loop with maybe a 7-8 turns or so and put the
