I haven't logged a Cuban on 900 kHz yet. When I use the ALA100 which points right at Cuba, the dominant station is usually WATV in Birmingham, unbelievably at only 158 watts night. So far

Cuban on 900 khz
Recently I reported a tentative R. Progreso on 900 khz. Hrd the Cuban
again this morning but still as a tentative. Noted what sounded like a
obvious SS station NOT from Mexico. Hrd around 1230 UTC.

Russ,
You're right that you do need a good quality preamp to work with a broadband loop. My Wellbrooks work great and I assume that they've used a dual balanced preamp to maximize their potential. I

I'll join the Okies since I don't live too far away and was born there. That
will give them about 1 or 2 more stations to add to their list ;-)
