Thank you Scott for the very clear answer about the calculation. I will put that routine into my software on a small panel with a text box and a command button. When the button is pressed it will tune

Re: A second "Stealth Modified" PL-380 (stock coil Litz checked)
I just checked the Litz wire on the stock PL380coil. It has 15 strands. The micrometer reads one strand as between 2.5 and 3.0mils. From the wire table, #42 is 2.5, #41 is 2.8 and #40 3.1 mils.

I did the same PL380 stock loopstick rewind today.I'd previously failed to remove the loopstick, and was close to breaking it whenI stopped trying to pry it out. I tried again today, using a 1/4"

Roy,
The calculation I use is pretty straightforward. The idea is that
I assume inductance L is constant across the band and measure the
resonating capacitance at two frequencies. I end up with

Re: PL-380 Question??
Lee, how do you support those loops?
AFAIK, no one in the States, UK or anywhere else is importing the newer
Tecsuns or re-branding them, as with the G8.
