Spot on. I was a T.I.T. with the PMG. Did my first year at Strathfield (NSW) in 1966. That first year we were hammered with AC theory. I really enjoyed the practical especially building the

That would be your null.
If there are particular stations/frequencies you want to remove from your reception, maybe a wave trap will be what is needed. Do a search on crystal or xtal radios. Those
