Thanks Farmerik,
Your comments on the 7.5" plug-in loopstick are appreciated, and I'm reallyenjoying the entire project. Like you said, it's easy to take these antennas ona mountain top picnic,

Nobody seems to be mentioning Saudi Arabia 1521 and Algeria 549 which pack monster signals here in the Boston area many nights. I would rate these at least as good as the 1134 Croatian.

I am certainly going to try for barefoot Sporadic E on my Eton G8 this summer, I caught a bit of Portugal on the 8th April opening, but it was a bit weak, I also had weak TV channel R2

Re: Tecsun PL-360 7.5" Plug-in Loopstick Project Update
Yeah, 1134 would be tough, with 1134's 50+dBu splatter coming from a 350 deg heading.
I wonder if 1215 may be possible? KPRZ San Marcos-Poway's ~48-52dBu signal on 1210 is about 25.71 mi away,

As Tony related, it would be tough to receive 1134-Croatia on the westcoast if they are not transmitting :-) Their new hours (1600-2245 Z)certainly don't sound good for west

Farmerik,
I have read the posts about your experiments, also with interest. I'm not saying that an unbalanced air-loop won't bring in strong signals. More precisely, I think it will be inconsistent,
