I received the PL380 and I'm studying about its RSSI/SNRfeature.
I found an interesting review of the PL380 talking a littlebit about its concept, and for sure, it will help to

Re: FM Log 8.23.10 (additional)
Very good Tony.
I've yet to try my NS-HD01 for DXing. It does have RDS which could aid me in station identification.

Re: ANON-CO has the PL-210
Tecsun usually has a proprietary CPU/MPU on-board to run the memory functions and display. The temp. sensor could be easily added to that circutry.
AFAIK the PL-210 DOES NOT have a DSP chip. hygt369

Re: Another good morning of ULR FM DX
Glenn Hauser informed me today that K252DA, Enid OK (250W), recently moved from 98.3 MHz to 98.5 MHz. I assume the change is due to strong co-channel interference from "Coyote Country 98.3", KQZQ,

Quantum Q-Stick Plus for sale
I recently bought the Quantum Q-Stick Plus (7.5 inch ferrite rod with a tuning cap) when I toyed with the idea doing ULR Dxing. I found the small size of the radio buttons difficult for my Arthritic

Thanks Steven, I didn't have the '4704-05 data sheet but I do now. You're right, there is nothing in the '4734 sheet, only that the low IF architecture is patented.

Re: Dual conversion ULRs
Rick,
Si Silicon Labs uses "An image-reject mixer" instead of the higher (1st) IF frequency. The 1-line comment can be most easily found at the bottom left of page 19 in the Si4704/05 data sheet.

Dual conversion ULRs
Judging from the image of my local 1450kHz station 90kHz above on 1590kHz while standing near the tower, according to Scott Willingham I guessed correctly that the lF of the DSP is around 45kHz.

Yes, the Stones' "Sitting on a Fence" song is one that could be related to Ultralight reception boosting. Maybe another song of that era "Leaning on a Lamp Post" by Herman's Hermits also applies and
