Rick, Si Silicon Labs uses "An image-reject mixer" instead of the higher (1st) IF frequency. The 1-line comment can be most easily found at the bottom left of page 19 in the Si4704/05 data sheet.

Judging from the image of my local 1450kHz station 90kHz above on 1590kHz while standing near the tower, according to Scott Willingham I guessed correctly that the lF of the DSP is around 45kHz.
