Both my PL-310 and PL 360 are selectable for 9 or 10 kHz. steps. Maybe check your manual for the PL-380/390? I don't own either of those yet. - FARMERIK

Yeah, that's what I am thinking. A larger diameter may not help an antenna which receives off the edges. I wonder if a small diameter with far more turns would do better. - FARMERIK

Buy aTecsun PL-310, PL-380 or PL-390 on eBay from Anon (Joyce).
The390 is not an ultralight.

540 WLIE daytime like its a local. At nite it nearly dissapears.
The 1040//1050 is Flemington, NJ and qualifies as a repeater. Can only hear it at nite. You're right about CJMS. Its in the null nicely
