Re: FM Log 8.9.10 - My semi portable antenna's.
Scott,
I've had pretty good results with mine since day one. Maybe it's my location, don't really know. Looks like I'm going to be limited to reception under 200 miles using the earbuds, but all in

Re: Curious minds want to know ... why no SSB?
Thanks Scott. I wish I had access to your proprietary data!
One of my limitations was that, being in an urban area, my -60 db readings
were difficult, since I was bumping up against the 20 or so dB

Re: The SI4730 AM/FM DSP Chip
A Si4730 is identical to a Si4734 except that it
does not support LW and SW bands. The Si4731 and
Si4735 add FM RDS/RBDS features.

Re: South Pacific DXing-- Best Bets for West Coast ULR Users
Any idea what their transmitter power is, and how tight the lobe is on their pattern?
I think it would need to be a fairly strong signal for me to hear it. It would be competing with the lower IBOC

Re: Max S/N for RSSI readings?-FARMERIK
I have noticed that the Grundig G8 will report an RSSI level greater than 63. I have seen it as high as 85 on local stations. The S/N however is still clamped at 25.

I'm a bit confused here... are we talking 63db reletive to 1 micro-volt? If so thats a 2.0V rf signal.

Rick,
You are correct in concluding that the DSP IF is approximately
45 kHz. Well, at least in the case you measured. I'm not
certain, but it may change in different circumstances -- an
advantage
