Re: Best Audio Quality FM Portable with DX Capability...
Russ, thank you for your input. I would say my goal is 60% audio quality, 40% DX'ing. I don't know if those parameters help. But I will add the Grundig G8 to my list. :-)

Re: Sources of help for IDing a station?
Interesting - KLIF's page doesn't mention the simulcast but KTCK's
does. Maybe they just switched?
Thanks for the tip!

KKLF is a simulcast of 570-KLIF, so that's probably what you were hearing re: the gardening show.

I'm betting you won't find what you want for FM at that size. For Am, it's still the 615.

For FM, I think there's only one choice - the Grundig G8. For AM, it's the Sony T 615. I'd rate the Sangean as poor for FM.

These are updated pretty regularly for the US and Canada. I'd really doubt it was anything like a couple of years. I download files every several months for US & Canada AM & FM.

Hi Bryan,
I can recommend the Eton G8. It is sensitive and selective on both FM and AM
and the audio is good on decent headphones. The speaker is as good as its small size.

As this careens off topic... OpenOffice has an agreement with Microsoft for compatibility. I find that when I can't open something with my older copy of Microsoft Office, OpenOffice usually will.
