Not only that, but as you add space, you add distributive capacitance to the circuit, which may, under certain circumstances cause you to lose tuning for the whole band and/or distort the directioal

Re: Loop Wire Spreaders
That depends on whether you're speaking of a tuner AM only loop or a broadband loop. On the latter, spacing wouldn't be critical.
For a 2' loop, the ideal spacing would be about 3/8, perhaps a bit

Re: Loop Wire Spreaders
Great idea! 3/8th inch might be good up to a 2 foot loop or so. That is just a guess, not certain. I have thought of using peg board for one inch spacing. - FARMERIK

Re: Loop Wire Spreaders
I think I'd be inclined to use something a bit less permanent than hot melt glue, just in case you have to rewire the thing at some point..

Loop Wire Spreaders
In making spreaders for Loops I've found a great answer. Those Afro hair
combs - you know with the long tines -about 8 of them with a flat handle. $2
shop stuff. Cut the tines (carefully) with pliers

Re: Loop Wire Spreaders
Hi Tony, Russ and Farmerik,
These are very interesting comments, especially Tony's Afro-comb suggestion:-)
I've had good DXing results with 3/8" spacing on the PVC loops up to aboutthe 4' (side)

Re: Ultralight Radio Awards Program
hi raphael,
it depends on how much money you want to put into the project, after all its only a 15 dollar radio. if you wanted to spend 70 bucks on radio and parts, why not just get a tecsun 380 ?

I saw the ribbon cable but big loops need wide spacing, so I thought of the 450 ladder line-Rik

Re: Guy Atkin's Independent Testing of PL-380 7.5" Loopstick
Rik,
People have used ribbon cable to make loops. The wires are offset at the ends and jumpered in header connectors so there's a continuous circuit. Not sure about the turns spacing, but sure is easy

Re: Guy Atkin's Independent Testing of PL-380 7.5" Loopstick
I use my 4 foot loop horizontally near the ceiling most of the time, but wish it collapsed for transport. I am thinking about using 450 ohm ladder line with off set connections at the base, so
