Re: Re-Chiped G8
Man, Roy....
The entire group was holding its breath as you fired up thebutane!
That has to be some kinda "first."
My hands shake just thinking about it!

Bravo Roy!
I've worked with these chips for years and never attempted to
solder one down myself. Glad your G8 is back online.

ULR Walkabout
I love to go on long walks.
Sometimes with the quiet as my only traveling companion.
Sometimes with a shirt pocket radio as a companion.
Such strange names these friends have: DT120, ST400W, SRF59,

Re: Guy Atkin's Independent Testing of PL-380 7.5" Loopstick
Hi Scott,
In 2008 I built a "Slider" Eton E100 that used the ferrite rod as the moving element. The ferrite was an 18" x 1" Stormwise rod. I think it was a novel approach, using a threaded Nylon rod

Re: Si4734 Hardware and Software Guides
Some additional comments:
1) It looks like you can download all the development software
without buying a starter kit.
2) The Keil demo compiler is normally limited to 2 kB compiled
object code.

Gary,
Using different inductances to optimize different band
segments should not be controversial. In addition to
a slider arrangement, other possibilities are those
used by crystal-set

Hi,
I built a tuned loop for LF reception usingone of the 24" 125 mu Stormwise rods for someone about 8 months ago. Itworked very well and was noticeably sharper tuning than a similar length
