I agree Jim - this is probably a fairly pedestrian model, otherwise they would have trumpeted the filter choices as with the D96L.

That verifies what I've observed from Day 1. I purchased the PL-380
specifically because it was reported soft mute had been disabled.

It doesn't have a keypad, is very tall but narrow, maybe 2". The jack for external antenna is a mini-jack on the top of the radio. You can use it to plug in the supplied 3" (roughly) LW/MW ferrite

Gary de Bock has tried every version AFAIK and was unable to detect any differences on MW. The stability improvement may have been on SW, though my 11/09 Version 1 seems okay there.

Thanks for the info. It was simpler to fix than your suggestion. The battery contacts weren't making sufficent contact. I remedied that by bending them outwards.
