Re: A simplistic explanation (long)
Hi Scott
You will have to remove the metal RF shield to gain access to the SMD resistors from the local CPU. Here is another picture to help (G8). Included are the GPO lines and reset. Tecsun hold

Re: Tecsun PL-380 Four Band Performance Review
yes, that was my take on it, too. These itty-bitty ferrite bars just don't seem to cut it. "Soft-mute" might be an annoyance, but the short ferrite-bars are a deal-breaker for me.

Re: Tecsun PL-380 Four Band Performance Review
Hi Gary,
Thanks for the review of the PL-380. It seems like the PL-310 is a better bet, except for the "soft mute" feature. Perhaps Tecsun will disable the soft mute in the PL-310 at some point in

John,
Thanks for the warm welcome. I've been reading through all the articles in the file area and at dxer.ca. Looks like a lot of fun projects.

New logs
I haven't had much luck adding new logs with the G8, but hit on a couple of good ones.
Times are UTC and radio is a barefoot Grundig G8. I'm located in Plainfield Indiana.
