Hello Paul ...
Good question!
How about a two tube, regenerative receiver; first tube is a buffer and RF amplifier, second is the regenerative detector. If not

Re: PL-368 Has this fault been sorted?
Hi Ron
Thanks for that, I have to say that with further use I’ve found that 99% of the time mine is spot on also 🙂. Each day I use it I love it more, it’s clarity is wonderful. At this stage

PL365 v PL368
Hi all.
From a DXing perspective, any advantage of one against the other?
I am looking at these as the base to use for some experiments on various external aerials and testing some ideas and theories

Hi FenDrifter
I haven't tried the side band calibration. It seems to be spot on when I tune in Morse or voice on the ham bands. As far as the muted tuning I've used a Tecsun PL 600 for years and have

Thanks Peter.
The auto store on my Digitech AR-1733 works fairly well but at times it seems to miss stations I would expect it to auto store. I am going to have a look at some of the Tecsun

One Radio To Rule Them All
Hi all.
If you could design and build your ultimate "DXing" radio, which fits in the broad ultralight rules of size and cost, what would this look like and what features would you include or remove?

Thanks John.
A resistor terminates a long wire to the ground. That makes it uni-directional. An insulator and a balun don't make a wire directional.

John
I didn't measure the wire but it is about 18m. The balun is homemade with a 9:1 ratio. A wire is non-direction on MW at that length, but it is aligned NW/SE.
