Actually 7RN is the South Pacific station that we hear 90% of the time here also, Paul.
About 4% of the time 2WEB is all alone on the frequency, and once in a blue moon the underperforming Kiwi Maori

The construction article gives full information for building either an AM (Medium Wave) or Longwave-optimized loopstick, but even if you choose the AM (MW-optimized) loopstick, it will still boost

Mike, I agree quite a bit with what you wrote, I would look at the Skywave as a better all-round DXer, but the PL-330 has USB/LSB for about the same coin. A trade-off for sure, but function vs. DX has

I will try this mod, I also do a passive resonate Ferrite loop stick and increase the sensitivy but the noise floor of the radio itself is very very high, also the radio have noise even

Good points. I remember quality issues with different production runs on the 800 and E1. I had 2 2010s and had to get one repaired because of the fet issue. No radio is perfect. I may be off base

It's funny that you mention the Satellit 800 and E1 because they are top performers and the E1 was a breakthrough in some ways, as a portable with Sync which worked (very well) in three modes

Excellent question and something I hadn't tried with an ultralight.
I inductively coupled my Youloop to my R-108 this morning. The standard 1 meter Youloop diameter shows about a 3 dB
