Hola Jorge,
The PL-398MP and PL-398BT, along with the older PL-390 are identical electronically. The closest to a single speaker version is probably the PL-310.

Re: 800 TWR Bonaire 9012km PL 398MP and Etón Elite Traveler
Hi Peter,
Is there any noticeable receiving differences in between PL-398MP and BT models? Is there a PL-398 with just one speaker?

Best distance for an ultralight at my present location.
Obviously better on the Tecsun PL-398MP.
Both radios used "barefoot" (just their internal ferrite rods).

Yagi's offer antenna gain but they also have the benefit of directionality.
Verticals (whip)s are omnidirectional) and offer no opportunity to null out. Dipoles have a figure-eight pattern and have

Re: 96.3 OFM 209km D-808 with yagi aerial
The PL-398MP is much better on FM than the XHDATA-D808.
The D-808 wasn't able to pass this test when using a vertical FM dipole.
https://youtu.be/OPZI5_PsH-Q
FM stations 100kHz apart can be separated.

Re: 96.3 OFM 209km D-808 with yagi aerial
Hola Jorge,
There is an antenna socket on the left-hand side of the D-808 which works on SW and FM.
There is some evidence of overload using a yagi on FM. I'd imagine the overload will be worse in

Hi Peter,
Could you provide more info about that use of a yagi with the little D-808, and your overall opinion of the results?
Gracias

Hi Paul,
It was an easy test. ;)
Zero. I heard nothing at 6:30 PM EST on the frequencies 1400 KHZ to 1500 KHZ. Or 1300 KHZ to 1400 KHZ. Or 1500 KHZ to 1600 KHZ. On three radios. : (
