Understood. Same here, the only scanner I own now is a portable unit and that only gets used when the wife breaks it out during storms, or most recently, riots.

That is a great point Max, I often choose to undertake my portable sessions at locations based on who is around and if possible I pick locations where I am less likely to come across anybody else.--

I had a bit of a listen last night. Barefoot on my AR-1733, I was able to hear stations on most of the frequencies, once I get the 3" FSL setup for it, I am sure this will really help.
