Re: Tecsun R-9700DX or Tecsun PL310ET
I have pl-390 in my collection of almost 15 good radios.
And would advise you to stay away from it.
It is a beautiful paper weight ;simply not worth your hard earned money.

Gary:
It’s definitely New Zealand. Hawks Bay & Gisborne are on the east coast of the North Island of Aotearoa.
Good listening.

540 kHz UnID-- Australian English Assistance Needed (Again)
This 540 kHz recording was made in Poipu, Hawaii at 1503 UTC on November 6th, and features a male speaker giving some sports news and a weather report. I suspect this is 540-4QL in Longreach,

Re: New style of FSL........I think ?
Thanks Dean
Yes I would think that would be the first time ferrite has been in a loop this way
I do have a loop that I bought years ago that was made up in a basketweave style
It looks it was made up
Thanks Dean

Spider weave coils or basket weave coils are very high Q that's why the crystal set radio builders use them .Combine a high Q tuning cap (ceramic insulators) and this loop has very

Re: New style of FSL........I think ?
Hi :
The length will depend on what value of capacitor your going to use but these loops have been around 60 ft of litz.
the count 1200/660/275 etc. isn't so important as the AWG ,46 is best for

New style of FSL........I think ?
Because of the rising cost in Ferrite and Litz wire I have been thinking for some time about building a FSL that uses less .
It seemed to me that the wire part of the FSL is mostly fixed ,so maybe
