For Ultralight LONGWAVE DXing I use a "Gary DeBock" TECSUN PL-380 ULR with a 7 1/2" External Ferrite Rod wound for Longwave. I also have that coupled to a "Gary DeBock" LONGWAVE FSL

Thanks, with your help I was able to get the display on the GP-5/SSB to read LW frequencies, but all I heard on both the BOG and a 50 foot aerial was images from MW which were stronger than beacons,

Thanks for the helpful infomation. To get the radio into LW, you hold the 9 khz button down and then hold down the MW button. This should work.

What frequency do you hear Ireland on? I was never able to hear it on the listed frequency from North East USA, I think around 250 KHz? Maybe it is lower power than domestic BBC on 198 or directional
