We are edging towards a Germany-Brazil vote in favour of the PL-380.

Given today's technology, for FM I wouldn't want a non-DSP radio in this class unless one has very few strong locals.

Re: Recommendations for FM DX-worthy Portable Radio
The PL-380 is remarkable on FM. I don't do much FM DXing, but I have been amazed at the stations I get up at the cabin.

Check out the full review on the eHam site. This is an exerpt from it:
The noise-floor of these sets are not comparable to aDE-1103 which pretty much hammers down the noise. So one is left pulling

Thanks to all who sent their prompt replies to my rather "rambling" post. Wow ... after reading it again a few hours after I posted it, all I can say is that I must have been REALLY tired!!

Re: Recommendations for FM DX-worthy Portable Radio
Another recommendation for the Tecsun PL-380 here. I live in the Rockies where FM reception is really dicey, but the 380 competes well with my Panasonic RF-2200 at a fraction of the older radio's size

Hve to chime in here, that the PL-310 is a great value at US$50 for FM-RX.

Re: Recommendations for FM DX-worthy Portable Radio
I have used a PL-310 for several years and it is fantastic on FM, the best set I have ever had.
It can easily compete with many tabletop receivers and even outperform them on the FM

Recommendations for FM DX-worthy Portable Radio
Each of our local TV news stations here in Houston have been trying to outdo the others with reports about a new mosquito-borne virus outbreak. They say it's not fatal, but it is pretty nasty. One

New Tom Stiles YouTube upload, TRRS #0333
FYI, Tom Stiles, aka hamrad88, has uploaded a new YouTube episode in his fine series, TRRS #0333 - HD Radio versus RDS Radio
Might well be of interest to see, and hear his take on the topic.

FM Logs, June 29-30
Heard these stations during intermittent sleep periods over the past two days. The more I use the CCPocket Radio with the CCBuds earbuds, the more I enjoy the combo.
All times are CDT.

Hello To All,
Early morning rises lately before and around sunrise are definitely helping to add new ones to the Ultralight DX logbook here. Two more additions, one more Trans-Atlantic last night
